Just tested Claude's new extended thinking mode on a complex codebase refactoring task. It broke down a 2,000-line legacy module into clean, well-documented microservices in under 10 minutes. The reasoning trace showed it considering three different architectural approaches before settling on the optimal one. This is genuinely the most impressive AI coding experience I've had. The gap between AI-assisted and manual refactoring is now enormous.

Hot take: Perplexity has quietly become the most useful AI tool for knowledge workers. I've stopped going to Google for research-heavy queries entirely. The combination of real-time web search + LLM synthesis + inline citations is exactly what search should have always been. My research workflow is literally 3x faster now. The Pro Search feature for deep dives is worth the subscription alone.

🎨 Did a head-to-head comparison of Midjourney V6 vs Stable Diffusion SD3 for product photography. Results:
• Midjourney: Better lighting, composition, and "commercial feel" out of the box
• SD3 with custom LoRA: More consistent brand-specific results after fine-tuning
• Winner depends entirely on whether you need speed (MJ) or control (SD)
For our e-commerce client, we ended up using Midjourney for hero images and fine-tuned SD3 for catalog shots. Best of both worlds.

The AI agent revolution is real. Set up a Zapier AI workflow that monitors our support inbox, categorizes tickets by urgency and topic using GPT-4, routes them to the right team, drafts initial responses, and escalates edge cases to humans. What used to require 2 full-time support staff for first-response is now handled automatically with 94% accuracy. We still have humans for complex issues, but the mundane stuff is gone. ROI was positive in the first week.

Just finished a short film where 40% of the B-roll was generated with Runway Gen-3 Alpha and Sora. Here's what I learned:
1. AI video is PERFECT for establishing shots, environmental footage, and abstract sequences
2. Character consistency across clips is still the biggest challenge
3. Runway's editing suite (motion brush, inpainting) saved more time than the generation itself
4. Sora produces better individual clips but Runway's ecosystem wins for actual production
Total production time was cut by roughly 35%. The future of indie filmmaking is AI-augmented.

Controversial opinion: GitHub Copilot is still the best overall coding assistant, but Cursor is the better *editor*. Here's my setup:
• Cursor for new feature development (Composer is unbeatable for multi-file changes)
• VS Code + Copilot for maintenance, debugging, and code review
• Claude API for architecture decisions and complex problem-solving
The idea that you need to pick ONE AI coding tool is outdated. The best developers use a toolkit.

Important thread on AI ethics: ElevenLabs just released their voice verification system that requires consent confirmation before cloning someone's voice. This is how responsible AI development should work.
Too many companies ship powerful capabilities without guardrails. Voice cloning can be transformative (accessibility, content creation, localization) but also deeply dangerous (fraud, impersonation, deepfakes).
The companies that build trust through responsible deployment will win long-term. Kudos to ElevenLabs for leading on this.

Suno V4 is mind-blowing. Generated a full 3-minute jazz fusion track with custom lyrics for a client presentation intro. The saxophone solo at 1:45 gave me actual chills. We're at the point where AI-generated music is not just "good enough"—it's genuinely enjoyable to listen to.
The implications for indie game developers, podcast producers, and content creators who can't afford licensed music are huge. A $10/month subscription replaces thousands in music licensing fees.

Built a complete competitive analysis dashboard using Gemini + Julius AI in 45 minutes:
1. Gemini Deep Research gathered data on 20 competitors across pricing, features, reviews, and market share
2. Exported structured data to CSV
3. Julius AI created interactive visualizations, ran statistical analysis, and identified three market gaps
4. Gemini helped write the executive summary
This would have taken a full week with traditional research methods. We live in the future.

Design workflow upgrade: Figma AI + Canva AI are not competitors—they're complementary.
• Figma AI for UI/UX design, component systems, and developer handoff
• Canva AI for marketing collateral, social media assets, and quick presentations
Figma's Visual Search across our design system saves 30 min/day. Canva's Magic Design turns our brand kit into polished social posts in seconds. Together, our design team output has nearly doubled without hiring.
